Introduction
Opening a page in a new tab in WordPress is a simple yet useful feature, especially when you want to enhance user experience by keeping them engaged with your content without losing their place. This is particularly handy for external links, documents, or important internal pages.
WordPress provides an easy way to set this up using the built-in editor. By utilizing the link options in the block editor or the classic editor, you can quickly configure any link to open in a new tab. This feature is essential for maintaining smooth navigation and improving engagement, ensuring users remain on your site while exploring additional content.
1. Click on the Website Name
In the WordPress dashboard, click on your website’s name at the top left of the screen, which will take you to the WordPress admin area.

2. Click on Appearance > Menus
In the sidebar of the WordPress dashboard, go to the Appearance section and select Menus. This will open the menu management area.

3. Click on the Screen Options
In the top right corner of the Menus screen, you will see a Screen Options tab. Click on this to expand additional options.

4. Click on the Link Target checkbox
In the expanded screen options, check the box labeled Link Target. This allows you to set a target for links in your menu.

5. Go to the page and click on the "Open link in new tab" option
After enabling Link Target, you will now see a checkbox in each menu item for Open link in a new tab. Find the page you want to edit, then check this option for that specific menu item.

6. Click on the Save Menu button
After making the changes, scroll down and click the Save Menu button to apply your settings.
