JooL: Caregiver Support App Development for the US Market

Connecting care profiles, caregiver discovery, communication and scheduling in one application.

SDLC Corp developed JooL’s caregiver support app for the US market. The project brings together carers, care buddies and care recipients through role-specific onboarding and tools for coordinating everyday support.

The engagement combines application workflows with communication, scheduling and daily care records, establishing the foundation for a caregiver-support MVP.

Project overview

JooL’s caregiver-support project brings participant profiles and everyday coordination into a shared application experience.

The scope distinguishes carers, care buddies and care recipients, connecting profile information with discovery, care-circle management, communication and scheduling.

SDLC Corp’s custom application development work brings these requirements together around the practical activities involved in coordinating care.

The challenge: coordinating support around the care recipient

Care coordination involves more than finding someone to help. Participants need a way to share relevant information, find suitable support, communicate and arrange sessions.

The project brings these steps into a coherent app journey, with the care recipient’s profile providing context for the surrounding workflows.

Role-specific onboarding

The onboarding scope separates registration for carers, care buddies and care recipients.

Carer profiles capture personal and location information. Care-recipient profiles provide a separate record for the person receiving support. Care-buddy profiles include disciplines and background, with a field for certification status.

These profile fields organize participant information; a certification-status field is not a claim that every care buddy holds a verified credential.

Carer

Coordinates support and provides care context.

Care buddy

Shares disciplines, background and availability.

Care recipient

Has a separate profile for the person receiving support.

Discovering care buddies

The discovery scope uses location, discipline and language to help carers find relevant care-buddy profiles.

Gender and discipline preferences also form part of care-circle connection requirements. Discovery leads into the next steps: connecting, communicating and arranging support.

Managing the care circle

My Care Circle brings caregiving connections into one place. Its scope covers adding and removing care buddies and requesting communication with connected participants.

Notifications keep participants aware of incoming requests. The separate My Care Community module was non-operational within this project scope.

A connected care journey

Profile information provides context for discovery. Care-circle connections create a route into communication, and availability supports the scheduling of sessions.

01Onboarding

Establish participant roles and care profiles.

02Discovery

Find care buddies using relevant profile criteria.

03Care circle

Organize connections around the care recipient.

04Communication & scheduling

Discuss support and arrange available sessions.

Communication between participants

The communication scope includes chat with conversation history and calling requirements, helping participants discuss and arrange support after connecting.

The project’s calling scope covers external meeting services and an integrated video-calling approach.

Scheduling available sessions

The scheduling scope connects care-buddy availability with session arrangements. Care buddies provide available slots, while carers use the scheduling workflow to arrange support.

This gives the care journey a practical next step after discovery and communication.

Recording everyday care information

The health-check scope includes entries for Activities of Daily Living and mood, linked to the care recipient’s profile.

These entries organize recorded observations. They are not presented as diagnoses, automated clinical assessments or proof of improved health outcomes.

Everyday records

Activities of Daily Living

Record everyday care observations.

Mood entries

Organize self-reported or recorded observations.

Care-recipient context

Keep entries connected to the relevant profile.

Profiles and notifications

Profile management supports updates to participant information after registration.

The notification scope includes system-wide and user-specific messages, administrative notifications and participant-facing alerts about relevant app activity.

Informational content

The app scope includes PDF articles and daily tips related to care-recipient conditions or relevant disciplines.

These resources sit alongside the coordination workflows. Academy, store and purchase navigation do not establish a complete learning platform, commerce system or personalized medical-advice service.

Subscription experience

The MVP requirements provide for a free basic subscription, with subscription choices represented in the interface.

The MVP centers on free basic access. Premium billing and payment-provider connections belong to the broader development plan.

Bringing application workflows together

The project combines registration, profiles, discovery, communication and scheduling with supporting care records and notifications.

The software integration scope connects these workflows with supporting services. Individual third-party providers are not named as deployed integrations.

The focus is how these steps work together: profiles support discovery, connections support communication, and availability supports scheduling.
