How is this different from PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, Canvas, or Blackbaud?
Most education platforms target one segment well. Praxis targets four with native editions (K-12 schools, colleges, tutoring centers, and standalone LMS) sharing a single AI brain and a real compliance layer. If you operate across segments (a district that also runs a tutoring arm, a university that sells courses externally), you stop running four separate tools.
Do the AI features support our state standards and English Language Learners?
Yes. The AI brain is mapped to Common Core, NGSS, AP, IB, and all 50 state standards out of the box. Lesson plans, tutoring sessions, and parent communications can be generated in Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Arabic, Portuguese, Russian, French, and 12 other languages used in US schools.
How does data residency and FERPA compliance work?
Tenant data is hosted in US-region AWS or Azure (your choice). Enterprise plans get dedicated single-tenant clusters. We're FERPA, COPPA, CCPA, SOC 2 Type II, and ISO 27001 compliant. Section 508 and WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility are built in. Data Processing Agreements and Student Data Privacy Consortium (SDPC) terms are standard.
Can we migrate from PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, Skyward, or Veracross?
Yes. We've built importers for every major US SIS and LMS, including PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, Skyward, Veracross, Blackbaud, Renweb / FACTS SIS, Sycamore, Alma, Canvas, and Schoology. Most migrations complete in 2–8 weeks depending on size, with a dedicated migration architect for institutions over 5,000 students. Historical data (enrollment, attendance, grades, tuition) comes across intact and audit-logged.
What happens if we exceed the included AI quota?
Nothing breaks. You see a clear warning at 80%, a soft cap at 100%, and overage is billed transparently in 1,000-action blocks at a published rate. You can also configure hard caps per campus or per teacher to prevent surprises.
Is there an on-premise option for districts with strict policies?
For institutions with stricter requirements (some defense-affiliated and federal-grant-funded contexts), we offer private-cloud deployment on AWS GovCloud or Azure Government. This is enterprise-tier only and adds setup time.
Who owns the data, including AI-generated content?
You do. The institution owns all institutional data and all derived content (lesson plans, generated questions, graded feedback). Model providers do not retain or train on your data. We delete records on contract termination and provide a full export in machine-readable formats compliant with the SDPC standard contract.
